Banjo Bear is Here! - Media Release
Monday 10th September 2012
The Carob Kitchen launches Australia’s first premium, Carob Milk Bar range, made from organically grown Australian Carob and real Cocoa Butter. Crafted from bean to bar with only the purest of natural ingredients added to blend a mild yet naturally sweet, smooth Carob bar.
They are proud to say this range has no added sugar and is caffeine, theobromine and gluten free. It is sustainable and FREE from Palm Kernel Oil.
The new range includes 80g blocks, packaged in raw hand drawn interpretations of the picturesque carob leaf and bean. These come in two varieties, Milk and Almond and have especially designed counter top dispensers for cafes, gourmet supermarkets and health food shops.
Banjo – The Carob Bear, a 15g individually wrapped Bear is clearly the stand out favourite. Whilst originally designed as a ‘no added sugar’ treat for children, it seems adults are also connecting with Banjo’s friendly character and melting mouthfeel. Also available in a counter top dispensers.
The Carob Kitchen, Australia is a pioneer in the growing and crafting of Australian carob. This small Port Elliot based orchard on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia has some 3500 Carob trees, now seventeen years old. Planted from seed by owners David and Carol Solomon, it is fair to say they had patience and a vision to see their Carob Beans develop into the Carob Kitchen range today.
Daughter Sophie Richards [in charge of sales and marketing for this family run business] is delighted with the new range: “I knew we could make a quality milk bar, with our naturally sweet Carob beans. The response has been overwhelming, even having Chocoholics convert. This is an outstanding achievement for our brand, just twelve months after The Carob Kitchen launched the organically grown pure Carob range, which includes Carob Syrup, Carob Kibble Nibbles and roasted Carob Powder.”
Carob Milk Bar Ingredients: milk solids, cacao butter, organically grown Australian carob, natural vanilla and GMO free soy lecithin.
